also ~AgentQStables I drew a different collision, a little bit after the one in your entry- on if you're wondering.

Chariot racing was taxing, more so than he had expected. He didn't know exactly what he had been expecting when he signed up for this event (though know he was considering it a temporary lapse in judgement) but the toga was a surprise. In any case, he figured they must be close to the end now, and the course was getting progressively more closed in. He had already had one scare- farther back when a rock slide spooked the chariot belonging to Agent Q Stables, and they had collided briefly. The driver of that team, one of the two gypsy twins that he couldn't tell apart even after meeting them multiple times at other events, had pulled up for a moment afterwards. Currently, Agent's team was about a quarter mile behind, having pretty much caught up and the two Georgian Grande had seemed to recover quickly. Ross was glad they were ok, but he didn't intend to let them pass. He knew there was a little Egyptian chariot somewhere out in front, but he lost sight of that pair several minutes ago, and that was bad enough.

To bad for Ross that his horses, in particular the resident scardy cat, had other plans. She had been quiet for most of the race, only here and there tossing her head, and he had relaxed his hold on the reins- a mistake on his part. He didn't even see what startled her, only reacting to the fact that she no longer wanted to go forward, just sideways- and she pulled poor Kvit almost off his feet. He played the reins, relaxing his hold on Kvit so he could drop his head and recover and pulled Sissy tight, trying to keep her from dashing off completely in the wrong direction. The whole chain of events probably took less than a minute, but the drop in pace was enough that he was aware of the the team coming up behind him- Agent's team, and they had the speed and now position to pass as Sissy had managed to pull them to the side.

Determined to stay in front, Ross reacted before even checking behind them, pulling both horse back to the lane, trying to block off Agent's team- another mistake- as he realized immediately after. That team was far to close behind them, and only the fact that the other driver had asked his horses for more speed saved them both from a full on collision, as the other team squeaked by, wheels knocking hard. The gypsy turned and shook his fist, before continuing on, his previous friendliness forgotten, and Ross brought his horses to a stop. What the fuck was I thinking, trying to cut him off like that? His hands were shaking, he realized. He considered himself a careful person, and what he just pulled could of verily easily injured a horse or even killed someone. Fuck, that was stupid. HE would have to apologize after the race was over. The driver had been nothing but considerate, even waving them on ahead after that first collision, and Ross had re payed him by nearly getting his horses injured. Reacting without thinking was no excuse, if he had managed to do like he tried.....he shuddered. Suddenly winning didn't seem so important. He asked his horses to go forward again, but the pace he set was much slower than before. If he was going to react in ways that could cause an accident, then maybe he wasn't cut out for this sort of thing.
